花石樓的旁邊是第二海水浴場，浴場由寧武關(guān)路入口處分為東西兩部分，東區(qū)更衣室前有一個涼棚，是中共中央政治局會議的舊址。1957年，毛澤東主席來青島主持召開中央政治局會議，在第二海水浴場游泳時(shí)發(fā)現(xiàn)這個涼棚面向大海、環(huán)境清靜而且十分寬敞，于是提議大會在這里召開，工作人員便把涼棚用竹簾圍起來，在這里召開了中央政治局會議。

山海關(guān)路5號是日寇第二次占領(lǐng)青島期間，在這里建的一座日本式別墅。該建筑外墻用綠色的釉面磚裝飾，顯得格外別致，與花石樓一樣，解放后, 山海關(guān)路5號成為了中外賓客的下榻的賓館。1957年，時(shí)任中共中央總書記的鄧? ?平同志在青島參加中央政治局會議時(shí)就在此下榻。

沿山海關(guān)路再向西走不遠(yuǎn)就到了山海關(guān)路9號，這里接待的賓客大都是外國的國家元首和政府領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人，因此有“青島釣魚臺”之稱。山海關(guān)路9號是一幢美式建筑，解放前是美國第七艦隊(duì)司令柯克上將的官邸，室內(nèi)的家具全部是美國制造，有的現(xiàn)在還在使用。

與青島釣魚臺一街之隔的是元帥樓，元帥樓也是一幢日式建筑，但與青島釣魚臺不同的卻是紅瓦黃墻的“青島風(fēng)格”，由于共和國的十大元帥中有五位曾在這里下榻過，故得名元帥樓。相傳文革時(shí)期江青也在這里住過。另外，公主樓、宋家花園、朱德別墅、義聚合別墅等等也是十分有特色的建筑。

八大關(guān)是來青島必看的景點(diǎn)之一，用時(shí)大約一上午或大半天，如果有興趣的話可以從您的“下榻處”出發(fā)時(shí)帶上午餐在八大關(guān)優(yōu)美的環(huán)境里野餐一下，不過要注意保持環(huán)境衛(wèi)生。吃完中飯可步行去第一海水浴場洗個海澡（第二海水浴場平時(shí)不開放），這樣不僅省去了到處找飯店浪費(fèi)時(shí)間，而且不會景點(diǎn)的飯店宰。去八大關(guān)可以乘26、31等公交車到“武勝關(guān)路”下車。
